Community PINT NITE to benefit RI Family Shelter

SVI CPN

We will be holding a Community Pint Night on Thursday , January 23 for the benefit of the Rhode Island Family Shelter located at 165 Beach Ave,  Warwick RI, 02889 .
They are a 24 hour, 7 day a week shelter for homeless families. An average of 35 individuals may receive shelter at one time. RI Family Shelter is the only temporary emergency family shelter of its kind in the Kent County area. All families are welcomed. Approximately 300 individuals per year receive shelter. Over one half of all sheltered are children. They provide temporary shelter to nine families at a time dealing with a housing crisis.  While our goal is to rapidly re-house these families, we also seek to ensure that re-housed families avoid becoming homeless again.  Thus, our approach is to allow families to stay “just long enough” — that is, that families who need assistance leave when affordable housing is available and they have the resources needed to avoid becoming homeless again….
